Coach Paul Mazzarelle brings more than 16 years of competitive swim coaching experience to SASO.
After graduating from Humboldt State in 1995 where he majored in biology, he became the head coach with the Humboldt Swim club in Arcata for three years.
During that time he was also an Associate Professor of Physical Education at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka.
Between 2000 and 2005 he joined the staff at the world famous Mission Viejo Nadadores club in Mission Viejo California where he was the 13-14 Division Director overseeing a number of assistant coaches and was personally responsible for coaching the club's elite 13-14 year old swimmers.
For the past five years Mazzarelle was the head age group coach in San Dieguito in Solano Beach CA.
Paul and his wife recently relocated to the Concord area where his wife Shannon is employed with the Shaw Group.
