Meet Schedule Notes:
The team meet schedule is subject to change. Various levels of swim meets are available and SASO swimmers and/or practice groups will not attend all meets on the schedule. Please see your coach if you have any questions about which competitions are appropriate for your child.

The long course season culminates with a series of championship swim meets. These team scoring meets are available to swimmers achieving specific qualifying time standards. We expect to have participation and support from all of our team members at these championship meets. With this in mind, the SASO coaching staff asks that families schedule family trips/vacations after their appropriate championship swim meet.

SASO will be hosting the Summer Junior Olympic Last Chance Qualifier (July 6-8, 2012). PLEASE SAVE THE DATE! We require full participation from all of our families to volunteer at this meet. Be prepared to volunteer and make this a safe and fun competition for our swimming youth.

Timing:
All parents are required to volunteer as a timer for swim meets. Please plan on a 1- to 2-hour shift for each day of competition. If a parent is not available to volunteer, you must find an appropriate substitute. If you are not able to volunteer as a timer please do not sign your child up for the swim meet. Parents of very young and first-time swim meet swimmers are excluded.

Officials:
All USA-Swimming teams are required to provide trained & certified stroke and turn officials at USA swim meets. The number of swimmers determines the number of officials required. Typically each team is responsible for one official for every 10 swimmers. SASO has a number of officials but we are always looking for new volunteers. It is common and reasonable for officials to only work at meets their children participate in. With this in mind, as their children progress in age and ability, we may experience a lack of officials at some beginning and intermediate level competitions. All teams not providing officials for a specific meet will not receive athlete ribbons and awards. Please let us know if you have questions or are interested in becoming an official.

Team Uniform:
All swimmers attending USA-Swimming competitions must wear a SASO team suit (purchased at Splish.com) or a solid navy blue suit. Swimmers electing to wear racing suits should get the Speedo Aquablade (female leg suits are not permitted). All competitors are also required to wear a SASO team swim cap; team t-shirts, sweats, parkas, and team colors are strongly encouraged. Proudly wear SASO Navy and Gold! Information about team apparel can be found on our website.

The coaching staff will enforce the uniform policy at all USA swimming meets. Swimmers without a team or solid navy suit will be asked to purchase a navy blue suit at the meet or be asked to miss scheduled competitions.

High performance technical racing suits may only be worn in the following competition criteria:
·         Junior Olympics (swimmers ages 13 and older)
·         Far Westerns (swimmers ages 13 and older)
·         USA Sectionals, Junior Nationals, and above
·         Select “Senior” level meets as recommended by the Head Coach
